Small, green-skinned pulses with a yellow interior. Mild, sweet flavour, easy digestibility. Excellent for khichdi, soups, and sprouts.
Green Gram, popularly known as Moong Dal, is one of the most cherished pulses in India, celebrated for its light, cooling nature, easy digestibility, and incredible health benefits. Our Moong Dal is sourced from the black-soil regions of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Karnataka, where organically grown green gram thrives. We offer it in two forms: whole green moong (sabut moong) with the skin on, and split yellow moong (dhuli moong) with the skin removed. Whole green moong has a slightly earthy flavour and chewy texture, perfect for curries, soups, and sprouting. Dhuli moong is sweet, mild, and cooks to a soft, creamy consistency in just 15-20 minutes, making it ideal for the classic 'moong dal khichdi', pongal, and light soups. Moong Dal is a nutritional gem—it is packed with plant-based protein (approx. 24%), dietary fiber, resistant starch, folate, iron, magnesium, potassium, and a range of antioxidants. It supports digestive health, stabilizes blood sugar levels, aids in weight loss, improves heart health, and has a cooling effect on the body, making it particularly beneficial in hot summer months. Ayurveda considers moong dal as a tridoshic food—balancing all three doshas. Our Moong Dal is meticulously cleaned, free from impurities, and carefully packaged to maintain its natural goodness. Sprouted moong is also available upon request.
